Day Trip: Sorrento to Pompeii & Naples
A short drive will take you to the nearby town of Pompei where your local guide will show around the remains of the ancient Roman city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 AD. Enjoy a step back through the centuries to see one of the world’s best examples of Roman civilization. After the visit of Pompei, continue to Naples for a panoramic visit of this lovely city, which was the capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies under the rule of the Bourbon family until 1861 when Italy was unified under the House of the Savoia family. Your guide will be glad to suggest a suitable venue for an optional lunch. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.
